Home-made tomato sauce recipe
Try this simple, healthier than store-bought, tomato sauce, using only fresh ingredients!
1 pack cherry tomatoes
3 garlic cloves chopped
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
Sea-salt and black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 bunch fresh basil
Preheat oven to 220C
Chop the tomatoes in half and place in a bowl
Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well
Place in an oven-safe container and make sure everything is evenly spread
Roast for 25-30 minutes or until the tomatoes are tender and slightly charred.
Transfer to a heat-safe blender and blend everything together until smooth.
*Use right away on your favourite dishes or store in airtight containers and freeze.
**This recipe yields about 2 cups of sauce.
