Sheet Pan Chicken, Sweet Potato & Green Beans

Minimum prep, maximum taste — this is the kind of dinner that earns its place in a weekly rotation. One pan, real ingredients, and almost no active cooking time.
Why it works
This meal covers your bases without overthinking it:
Chicken drumsticks — a satisfying source of protein
Sweet potato — complex carbohydrates plus fibre and vitamin A
Green beans — fibre, vitamin C, and volume without extra calories
Feta — a small amount goes a long way on flavour, added at the end so it stays soft rather than dried out
It's a balanced plate straight off one tray, no separate sides to think about.
Ingredients
Chicken drumsticks
Sweet potato, cut into chunks
Green beans
Feta cheese, crumbled
Olive oil
Paprika
Onion powder
Garlic powder
Turmeric
Thyme
Salt and pepper
(Exact quantities depend on how many you're feeding; this recipe scales easily.)
Method
Preheat the oven to 150°C
In a large bowl, toss the chicken drumsticks and sweet potato chunks with olive oil, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, turmeric, thyme, salt, and pepper until well coated.
Spread everything out on a sheet pan in a single layer and roast for 20 minutes.
Add the green beans to the pan and continue roasting for another 15–20 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and the sweet potato is tender.
In the last 5 minutes, scatter the feta crumbles over everything and return to the oven just until softened.
Serve straight from the pan.
Total time: 40–45 minutes | Active time: 10 minutes
A dietitian's note
Sheet pan meals like this one make consistency easier, which matters more than any single "perfect" meal. Protein, complex carbs, and fibre-rich vegetables in one dish mean less decision-making and less cleanup, without cutting corners on nutrition.
