If you love peanut butter and chocolate, then this is the protein snack you've been waiting for. Perfect before or after your workout, delicious and highly nutritious.
INGREDIENTS:
3/4 cup smooth peanut butter
1/3 cup honey (or maple syrup)
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cups old fashioned oats
1/2 cup protein powder of your choice (preferably a neutral flavour like vanilla - we used almond protein by Amino Animo
3 tablespoons flaxseed meal
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
pinch salt
1/3 cup dark chocolate chopped
METHOD:
Add peanut butter, honey, and olive oil in a heatproof bowl. Melt everything over a bain-marie (medium-high heat). Stir until combined and smooth. Let aside.
Mix the oats with the protein powder, flaxseed, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl. Stir in the peanut butter mixture and combine all ingredients together.
If the dough is warm let it cool in the fridge for a few minutes before adding in the chocolate to prevent it from melting.
Add in the chopped chocolate and combine.
Line a pan with baking sheet.
Add the dough to the pan and press lightly to create an even surface.
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours
Cut into your desired bar shape
ENJOY!
