Peanut-butter/chocolate, protein bars

If you love peanut butter and chocolate, then this is the protein snack you've been waiting for. Perfect before or after your workout, delicious and highly nutritious.



INGREDIENTS:

  • 3/4 cup smooth peanut butter

  • 1/3 cup honey (or maple syrup)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 cups old fashioned oats

  • 1/2 cup protein powder of your choice (preferably a neutral flavour like vanilla - we used almond protein by Amino Animo

  • 3 tablespoons flaxseed meal

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • pinch salt

  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate chopped


METHOD:

  • Add peanut butter, honey, and olive oil in a heatproof bowl. Melt everything over a bain-marie (medium-high heat). Stir until combined and smooth. Let aside.

  • Mix the oats with the protein powder, flaxseed, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl. Stir in the peanut butter mixture and combine all ingredients together.

  • If the dough is warm let it cool in the fridge for a few minutes before adding in the chocolate to prevent it from melting.

  • Add in the chopped chocolate and combine.

  • Line a pan with baking sheet.

  • Add the dough to the pan and press lightly to create an even surface.

  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours

  • Cut into your desired bar shape

  • ENJOY!

*STORE in the fridge for about a week.
